Adding animation

I began adding animation to the components of my banner, trying to include all the major aspects when it comes to catching someone’s attention without distracting them   too much.

it isn’t an easy task, it took some adjusting but but after days of playing around with the timings I began to create to a solid piece. Of which, I would begin to be happy with.

Refining my ideas

After exploring my other possibilities and adding more content; some influenced from my own creativity and some taken from different sources, I created another design within animator.

“More refined and better looking.” people say.

I introduced more text to create more understanding and moved the call to action to the right to be more visible. This will create a higher ‘click rate’ !

I added more components to the banner to create a more eye catching ad.

I don’t want to add too many components to the add to create over crowding. Also, certain platforms only allow a certain percentage or text etc. I really wanted to keep this simple as it was my first time creating mock ad.

Learning animation

After discussing the project with peers, they suggested why don’t I create a rich media ad. There was a few suggestions mentioned, amongst them was animation. I liked the idea and stuck with it. I am learning code at the moment also and was going to try create an animation using code. However, since I have being using adobe within my assignments I chose to use adobe animator cc.

I watched videos on Youtube learning the different functions of illustrator. The videos led me to create a monster which would swoop across the screen.

This taught me the basics of animator cc.

Piecing things together

I created a blank canvas within , I then followed the guidelines from my previous blog posts to create a regular horizontal banner ad. I copied and pasted the individual segments of my header, of which I achieved from image tracing, as explained in my previous blog posts.

I created sample text using the text tool to visualise the positioning off elements used within my banner. I carried on to create sample layouts of banner, which I will post in my next blog posts for Critical review.

Image tracing

Whilst creating logos for the digital imaging assignment, I found adobe illustrator to be the most powerful and persice software available to get the job done. I resorted back to the illustrator to aid me whilst creating my banner design.

I opened my header document onto a blank canvas within illustrator. I recently learnt about useful properties of ‘image tracing’. By selecting the object, clicking image trace; then  expanding the properties of that object, we are left with the header components cut into individual segments.
