Presentation & Evalation

The final major project has been my favourite assignment of the academic year. The time frame and shear creative effort required to produce the assignment is what peaked my interest the most. Because of my interest in strategy and planning within the creative and digital industries the assignment ticked all the boxes. I was able to plan and record my assignment, using WordPress. Enabling me to reflect and see what I would do better next time when creating the logos or naming the company. I turned to physical mind mapping and brain storming methods which can been seen in my sketch book and pictures, this allowed me to perform these tasks in a way that suits me best.

I was intimidated about the ten-minute presentation. However, when I presented my presentation it proceeded to go on for over half an hour. I originally intended the presentation to be done using the WIX account as a visual aid; however, after a trial run, I decided the WIX website did not contain enough visual aid or important evidence, of which I wanted to include in the presentation. I eventually decided to use my WordPress account to present, because the production log I had produced on there, acted as a script. My WordPress journal also included multiple production images, containing important tools I used, which were included in my personal development plan from the beginning of the year which gave indication on important progression I made over the assignment. The software I used was aimed at the industry I wish to progress into, I have developed my skills using YouTube tutorials and trial and error.

On the next assignment of this nature I take part in I will produce more concept designs and not over think one part too much. By taking too long speculating over one design I maybe missed an important aspect of another.

I gained good feedback for realised versions of the logos I produced as I had produced various logo variations, anticipating different considerations of usage E.g. for use on black or white backgrounds.

Overhaul I think the assignment went really well and I would follow the same design concept again in the future. Designing, improving and realising. In my opinion these are the fundamentals when in the production of something creative, I am looking forward to continuing my future education in the creative and digital industry and exploring the different avenues I am presented with.
